Diablo 3 finally gets a release date!

Unfortunately it will not be launching with any form of PVP which we were all looking forward too. PVP will be added via a patch at a later date.

Some big things are happening in the world of PVP MMO’s over the next few months. Most important? Guild Wars 2 is just around the corner.

Now is the time to start getting yourself educated and prepared for the next best PVP MMO.

Let me be clear. Guild Wars 2 is not just another MMO. It is not a Rift. It is not a Star Wars. It is not just another WoW clone with end game PVE raiding with some PVP battlegrounds slapped in to it.

Guild Wars 2 is the first MMO, perhaps since DAOC, who’s sole end game content is PVP. That’s right… there is no end game PVE in Guild Wars 2. No raiding to get the best gear to win in PVP. It is just PVP.

Guild Wars 2 brings dedicated World PVP with objectives to fight over. Objectives that mean something. In addition to that you will also find ranked PVP tournaments to prove in fact that you are the best player.

Head over to the newly created Guild Wars 2 section of the forums to start reading up on the game right now.

When you do get in, it seems we will have about 15 people playing together. We are playing on the server called Port Nowhere. If you joined the Disturbed Faith guild for guild launch with us, that guild was “launched” on Belgoth’s Beacon. Do not roll on that server as we are not playing there.

We are playing on Port Nowhere, Empire/Sith side.

Early Game Access* for Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ is only a few days away! Starting December 13, 2011, The Old Republic will begin emailing invitations to start your Early Game Access. Due to the primary disinterest from most people I have spoken to, the few of us that are playing have elected to not create KoS within Star Wars.

As such, we have decided to play on the Empire side with Disturbed Faith, a guild run by Paytun/Hodnick and a few of his RL friends. There seems to be about 6-8 of us KoS people playing with them which has brought the guild size up nearing 20.

Which way to victory?

Just wanted to point out some specific section of the site you may want to take advantage of.

Main Home page:

Fader Images are the big images you see rotating through the screen. This will show up to 4 of the latest stories or interesting things for you to note and link you there appropriately.

Carousel Videos. Immediately below the fader is what is called the “Carousel”. This are all links to our latest YouTube videos. They are embedded in to the site for you to view without having to leave the page.

Social Media Buttons. These actually work. Use them to link to YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Flickr or subscribe via RSS. More info here.

Latest News. Like any standard blog you can get the latest news updates here. This is what the RSS feed uses. The site defaults to latest, however you can swap to “featured” to see a list of featured articles

Twitter Feed. You really need this explained?

Featured Posts. Shows the last 2 news stories that are selected as “Featured Posts” with their appropriate images.

Again… pretty self explanatory.

Yeah thats right… it isn’t like the Loch Ness monster. It actually exists.

Isabellah (Warrior), Mambai (Cleric), Nomic (Warrior), Myself (Mage) and Psaro (Cleric) were running around in Rift events trying to find people to kill. We came across about 8-10 level 48-50s that were in a raid clearing the Stillmoor zone invasion when we rolled them in an expert rift.

Interestingly enough, there was a Defiant town right next to the rift (in the SE area) which was an absolute blast to PVP in. Guards don’t hit very hard and they respawn over and over and over.

The 10 defiants pushed us back slowly and even managed to kill Mambai one time (they got smart and 3 Sabo’s started assisting and blowing 5 charges at the same time). We clashed with them for about 30 minutes straight until they eventually cowered in to the distance and we went to bed.

SPECIAL NOTE:

If you see Altair, a 48 Sabo, you must kill him immediately. This guy may be one of the only trash talkers I’ve come across that continually dishes it out while getting owned over and over and over.

Bottom line? There is hope for our precious world PVP.
